Please spread the news that Stepping Stones is currently FULL and is unable to take in any more pups. 
One reason is that we have reached a point where we have more dogs than our capacity is built for. We can’t give enough of TLC to each inidividual dog .. This has unfortunately a negative effect in socializing our dogs and preparing them for adoption.
A second reason and most important is Madeline’s health. Over the years she has done so much for the animals on the island, without having a second thought of sharing her home with them. Because she is not well she can’t take care of the very young pups that need 24hrs care.
The daily chores are completely relying on a small group of volunteers. Our team makes sure all dogs are fed, cuddled, taken to the vet, promoted for adoption etc.
This morning another very young pup has been left outside our gate. Of course she was taken inside and got some water and food. But a pup this young can’t be mixed with other pups and needs to be completely isolated and in full time care to have any chance of surviving. This means someone of our team needs to take the pup home. You can imagine the extra commitment it takes… We can’t have anymore as we have 2 young pups at our own homes at the moment.
We are VERY thankful for all the support we’re getting at the moment
